What is Entertaiment?
Entertaiment is often thought of as being fun and light-hearted, although it can have a serious purpose. Entertainment can range from a piece of music played for two, or a meal adapted for one, to ceremonies, celebrations, religious festivals, or satire intended for an audience of thousands. The word derives from intertenere, a Latin compound of the prefix inter, meaning “inside,” and the suffix tenere, an Indo-European root of ten, meaning to hold or stretch.
What is entertaining is that it hits on themes the brain was evolved to react deeply to in order to survive and function in the world we live in, such as social backstabbing or murders for example.
